A Man from Srebrenica Starts a Beautiful Story: “I Want to Show a Better Side of this City”

Mirsad Siručić, a man from Srebrenica, initiated the promotion of the tourist potentials of his city, aimed at drawing the attention of domestic and foreign visitors to the natural beauty of Srebrenica.

As he pointed out, his greatest wish is to show that Srebrenica has numerous natural locations worth visiting.

By promoting natural beauty, developing tourism, and fostering a sports spirit, this man from Srebrenica aims to show a prettier and brighter side of his city. His wish is for Srebrenica to come to life and attract an increasing number of visitors.

“My wish is to show others that there are beautiful sites in Srebrenica worth visiting. Some locations are difficult to reach by passenger vehicles, so I bought three quad bikes to organize tourist tours to Lake Perućac and Bijele Vode (White Waters),” Siručić told Fena.

He pointed out that the most attractive locations he wants to present to tourists are the Lake Perućac and Bijele Vode (White Waters) excursion sites, places known for their pristine nature, clean air, and beautiful landscapes.

“What makes these destinations even more special are thrilling off-road quad bike rides, as well as the option of boat rides on Lake Perućac. The combination of natural beauty, adventure, and traditional Bosnian and Herzegovinian hospitality makes this tourist offer unique and increasingly attractive for visitors from the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region,” Siručić said.

Tours are mostly planned for the weekend, departing early in the morning. Throughout the day, visitors tour natural off-road sites, while Siručić is always available as a guide for the tourists.

“I finance everything alone and plan to do this job seriously. We offer tourists an all-inclusive program including a stay in a Bosnian room and homemade food, quad bike rides, and a barbecue at the weekend house. There is also the possibility of boat rides on Lake Perućac by renting a speedboat,” stated Siručić, adding that his goal is to promote not only Srebrenica, but the entire Podrinje area.

“I want to promote Srebrenica and the entire Podrinje. We really have a special offer, and I am also a tour guide. My biggest support is my family, and this is a big deal for me,” Siručić said.

His offer also includes the Mujagin Han excursion site, where guests can stay the night, enjoy traditional Bosnian food, and feel the welcoming, domestic atmosphere. His aim is, as he said, to bring Srebrenica to life and offer a lot more to tourists.

“It is important that visitors, in addition to the Memorial Center, also see the sites that captivate with their nature, sights, and clean air. It is worth coming and touring these sites. My only goal is for Srebrenica to come to life and to be visited by an increasing number of tourists,” Siručić emphasized.

In addition to tourism, Siručić has been a recreational runner for years. Since 2018, he has participated in numerous half marathons, marathons, and charity races across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

For him, Srebrenica is the most beautiful place to live in and he is not planning to leave his city. His message to the youth is to engage in sports and find motivation in healthy lifestyle habits.

“I want to show a more beautiful side of Srebrenica. Together with my family, I have created a positive story,” he said.

He added how he found his peace and goal in working and running, as it makes him happy and gives him strength.

“We all know that life in Srebrenica is difficult and it requires hard work. We cannot lose momentum or give up,” said Siručić.
