That young people are the driving force of our society in all areas – including tourism, shows the example of young men Vedran Miletic and Frano Saric, former student colleagues, who in designed a unique tourist offer in Blidinje by the lake. Accommodation in a barrel-shaped room already attracts a large number of those who want to experience a unique experience of nature.
”We don’t just want to offer accommodation – it’s the last thing. Of course, you need to sleep somewhere, but what we want to offer is this experience – here the sky is really magical in the evening. That’s why we call it our million-star hotel,” Saric explains.
Vanja from Banja Luka came to Blidinje for a new experience, as she is a fan of unusual tourist adventures where she can take her pet: “The dog is here and I think it’s a great thing that you can take pets. I believe that there are all kinds of routes here, that you can think of them yourself, for a walk around the lake or in the mountainous part. I think this is a perfect way to escape from everything the city brings – noise and crowds, now the heat … Everything is really great here, you have water and this accommodation is really special.”
From the idea, and the plan to the making of the barrel – each segment of the accommodation space is handmade. They embarked on the project at a time of pandemic and few believed the idea would bear fruit.
”It’s a little crazy, everyone has been telling us how we are going to do it because our profession is computer science. And here every part was handmade – there was too much woodworking, problems, sleepless nights, it all had to be coordinated with college and other obligations because we have our other hobbies,” Frano states who is always looking for new solutions with his colleague Vedran. Tourism is a branch in which they see their future even at a time when many are leaving the country. The next unusual project is the construction of the Hobbit house in Goranci near Mostar.
”We have a lot of some crazy ideas, maybe we will start realizing some by next year. The Hobbit house is currently scheduled to be completed by the end of September or October. As for the Hobbit house, it is planned to work all year round, because it is an underground building, so, unlike this barrel, it is more resistant to weather conditions,” concludes Frano noting that their goal is to arrange unique and unusual places, where one can fully enjoy and merge with nature, Federalna writes.
