A new earthquake hit Turkey and Syria.
It is an earthquake of magnitude 6.4 on the border of Turkey and Syria, more precisely in Hatay province.
The earthquake occurred at 20:04 local time with the epicenter in the Defne district and at a depth of 16.7 kilometers.
Just three minutes after the first earthquake of 6.4, another earthquake shook Samandag in Hatay, with a magnitude of 5.8 on the Richter scale.
As a reminder, earthquakes of magnitude 7.8 and 7.6 on the Richter scale hit the southeastern part of Turkey on February 6, and were followed by additional earthquakes, which were felt in 10 provinces and neighboring countries, including Syria.
At least 41,156 people died and 105,505 were injured as a result of the devastating earthquakes with epicenters in Kahramanmaras. And in the north of neighboring Syria, at least 5,840 people died.
