On the occasion of the upcoming New Year’s holidays, the convicts of the closed penitentiary Zenica, with the assistance of the institution’s staff m, realized a suitable program that consisted of a musical and acting part.

This event was attended by hundreds of convicts, guards and other staff of the Penitentiary.

The director of the Zenica Penitentiary, Rusmir Isak, in his speech emphasized that there are many good people among the convicts who improved their lives in this institution and became better people.

“I am glad to see that the convicts are ready for resocialization, and this today’s event is the best indicator of that. We will certainly adequately reward that, but also adequately punish that part of the convicts who are not ready to cooperate,” said Isak.

He added that coming to prison does not represent the end of life, all those who respect the house rules can start a new life full of positive changes here.

The very goal of the activity is precisely educational in nature and serves to rehabilitate the convicts and gain some new experiences, knowledge and ultimately become an integrated part of the community after serving their sentence.

After the program, a festive lunch was held for all employees and convicts, Klix.ba writes.
