A rare Phenomenon recorded on Mount Cvrsnica in BiH

An interesting and rare phenomenon was recorded yesterdayafternoon in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Cvrsnica mountain. Namely, it is a phenomenon known as Brocken’s spectre (rainbow), and the reporter recorded it on the peaks of Velika Ostrovaca and Trinjaca.

A Brocken rainbow, or Brocken spectre, is an optical phenomenon that occurs when light is refracted and reflected through water droplets in the atmosphere. You can often see this phenomenon when you are on high mountain peaks or in a cloud with a lot of moisture.

It most often appears when a person is above a layer of clouds and sunlight, and water droplets in the cloud scatter the light. This creates a circle or ring of light around the shadow of a person standing or standing on top of a mountain or some other solitary object. A person’s shadow is projected onto moisture particles in the air, and the light refracts and reflects back toward the person, creating this effect.

Brocken’s rainbow is a fascinating natural phenomenon and is often associated with mystical or supernatural experiences when first seen on mountaintops. It got its name from the Brocken mountain in Germany, where this phenomenon is often observed. This effect can vary in size and color, and the appearance of fog, clouds, and lighting play a key role in how the Brocken rainbow shows itself, Klix.ba reports.
