Last year, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) set a record in the export of weapons, exporting a total of 5,092,287 kilograms of weapons, the value of which reached as much as 241,144,400 BAM.

The largest part of this amount comes from the export of bombs, grenades, torpedoes, mines, rockets, and similar military ammunition, and their parts, including ammunition, missiles, and related parts.

According to the data of the Indirect Taxation Administration (ITA) of BiH, 4,923,942 kilograms of the mentioned items were exported, the value of which was 227,630,062 BAM.

This amount includes both shot and cartridge caps.

A significant increase was recorded in the export of revolvers, pistols, swords, sabers, bayonets, and spears, the weight of which reached 1,862 kilograms, and the export value was 392,292 BAM.

Compared to the previous year, the export of military weapons also increased significantly, with 112,602 kilograms exported for 9,076,845 BAM.

This growth marks an almost four-fold increase compared to 2022 when 27,110 kilograms of military weapons worth 5,296,323 BAM were exported.

Despite these record numbers, there was a decline in exports of other firearms and associated devices that operate by igniting explosive charges, parts, and accessories for military weapons, revolvers and pistols, Akta reports.
