A replica of Sarajevo’s Sebilj, which is one of the central symbols of the city of Sarajevo, was installed in one of China’s largest cities, Tianjin.

The replica was installed as part of the international cooperation between the two cities, and as the mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karić, wrote, Tianjin was given “a touch of Sarajevo and a symbol of the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina”.

Sarajevo’s Sebilj in its twin Tianjin! A touch of Sarajevo and a symbol of the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina was installed in Tianjin.

“The Chinese pavilion in the ‘Safet Zajko’ Center and the replica of Sebilj in one of the economic centers of northern China and the largest ports in the world testify to the friendly and cultural bond between the cities that has lasted for more than four decades,” wrote Karić.

We remind you that there are several sebiljas in the world that are replicas of the one from Sarajevo. Sebilj can be found in Belgrade, which was a gift from the city of Sarajevo in 1989, St. Louis in the USA, which was built by the Bosnian diaspora, in Novi Pazar, Bursa and will soon be built in Prizren.
