“Returnee Senad Sejfic was attacked and severely beaten yesterday in front of the mosque in Gornja Kamenica near Zvornik. While he was driving his vehicle near the mosque, he was first surrounded and then beaten by Bane Jovanovic and Bojan Bogicevic, Serbs from the neighboring village of Donja Kamenica,” Republika Srpska (RS) Vice President Camil Durakovic, announced yesterday.
He spoke with Sejfic, who is currently in Tuzla, where doctors are determining the extent of his injuries.
“The Zvornik police arrested the perpetrators and I expect that they will be adequately and justly punished. I am also looking for more concrete measures for the safety of the citizens of this entity,” Durakovic pointed out.
Moreover, Durakovic emphasized that everything that happened in the past period – destabilization of peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and the region, manipulation of the public, the weak reaction of the international community, frivolous, malicious, and irresponsible politics – will result in more frequent cases like this one.
“I call on all police, judicial and security structures, politicians at all levels and functions, and all other authorities to make BiH a nicer and safer place to live because its citizens deserve a state that will protect them at all times, no matter what their name is,” Durakovic concluded, his office announced.
