A 70-year-old woman in Uganda gave birth to twins with the help of in vitro fertilization.

The International Hospital for Obstetrics and Gynecology in Kampala, Uganda’s capital, announced on its social media account that 70-year-old Safina Namukwaja gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl.

It was said that this case was not only a medical success, but also “revealed the strength and resilience of human nature”.

The statement stated that Namukwaja, who is estimated to be the oldest woman giving birth in Africa, has been doing in vitro fertilization for some time and that this is her first birth.

Namukwaya said she was “underestimated” by people around her because she did not fulfill herself as a mother.

Both mother and babies are in good health.
