The National Assembly of the Republika Srpska will hold a special session today in Banja Luka on the veto of the Serbian member of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, on the last conclusion of the BiH Presidency.
On the agenda is the proposed decision on confirming the statement of the Serbian member of the Presidency of BiH, according to which the conclusion of the Presidency of BiH regarding the “escalation of the attack by the entities of the Republika Srpska entity on the basic provisions of the Dayton Peace Agreement and endangering the constitutional and legal order of BiH” was adopted without consensus at the eighth regular session of the Presidency of BiH 10 of October, very harmful to the vital interests of the RS, according to the website of the National Assembly.
It is about the conclusion of the BiH Presidency, which states that it is necessary that “in order to consistently implement the principles of legal security and the rule of law, an immediate end to ultimatums, separatist policies and attacks on BiH and its institutions”.
On this occasion, Cvijanović previously stated that the RS and its representatives are not usurpers of the Dayton Agreement and called on the deputies to, in order to defend the interests and Dayton position of the RS, prevent the entry into force of the last conclusion of the BiH Presidency, which she vetoed because it is very harmful to the vital interests of the RS.
NSRS President Nenad Stevandić said earlier that the Assembly will vote a veto and confirm that the other members of the Presidency, Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić, cannot invalidate the decisions of the National Assembly of the RS as it can theirs.
According to the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the National Assembly considers the statement of the Serbian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and if it is confirmed by a two-thirds majority of at least 56 deputies within 10 days from the day of its transmission, the contested decision of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina shall not enter into force.
The tenth special session of the NSRS will be held today in the premises of the National Assembly in Banja Luka at 11:00 a.m.
