“A stable, sovereign and European BiH is not a Utopia, it is the only sustainable and responsible Path”

Circle 99 President Adil Kulenović assessed that Milorad Dodik’s appearance in the United States was not an isolated political event and that it was a deliberate attempt to legitimize on the international scene the long-standing policy of gradual dismantling of the constitutional structure and existence of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“Yesterday in the USA, a few days before in Hungary, and before that in Israel. This is no longer about daily politics and provoking fruitless polemics. This is a conceptual challenge to the very idea of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a state,” warned Kulenović.

He emphasized that a stable, sovereign, European and civil Bosnia and Herzegovina is not a democratic utopia.

“It is a rational and achievable political strategy to get out of the deadlock of repeating the bad past. And the most important thing: it is the only sustainable, non-conflicting and responsible way,” emphasized Kulenović.

At today’s regular session of Circle 99, author and publicist Đenan Galešić said that throughout a century and a half, Bosnia and Herzegovina has shown incredible strength of survival despite many times stronger ideologies that tried to deny, divide and destroy it.

Speaking on the topic “Profiles of the enemies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, synthesis of the 20th century and outlines of the 21st”, Galešić stated that historical trends should be known and connected with related events today, because unfortunately these are still burning questions for the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He added that since the middle of the 19th century, the Bosnian issue was constantly open, and that the national projects of neighboring countries built their borders over Bosnian territory and identity, while religious diversity was turned into a threat.

“Everything Bosnian, and above all the millennial religious diversity, with the ‘Bosnian philosophy of life’ as a cultural and civilizational achievement, in the understandings and projections of the national elites from the Bosnian neighborhood, were interpreted as unfinished business, as a historical anomaly, a mistake that needs to be corrected or destroyed,” said Galešić.

According to him, the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a fact that has been trivialized, suppressed and contested in the last 160 years, with the aim of preventing the creation of two categories: the Bosnian political people – the nation and, analogously, the Bosnian state.

Galešić stated that today’s Bosnia and Herzegovina bears the burden of the past, but also the task of shaping its ethno-religious components in a liberal and progressive spirit, Federalna writes.
