Emina, Ajla and Nejra Sipovic won three medals at the European Championship for cadets, juniors and U21, which was held in Tbilisi, Georgia, from February 9th to February 11th, 2024.

This is of historical importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina(BiH), because it is a unique case that three sisters from the same house win medals at the largest competition in Europe.

Emina reached the gold medal in the category of junior kumitewomen up to 61 kg through a series of impressive victories over the representatives of Scotland 6:1, Serbia 7:5, Slovakia 11:5, Ukraine 12:12 (advantage of the first point), and in the final she triumphed over opponent Hana Debeljak from Slovenia with a score of 4:1.

Ajla won a silver medal in the junior competition and became the vice-champion of Europe. She defeated the representatives of Poland, England, Serbia, and Slovakia, and in the final she was defeated by a minimum score of 1:2 against the representative of France.

On her way to the bronze medal in the junior kumite women’s category up to 55 kg, after the free first round, Nejra defeated her opponent from Serbia. In the quarter-finals, she was stopped by the representatives of Slovakia with a narrow score of 3:4, and after receiving the opportunity for a rematch, she defeated the representatives of Greece 4:0 and Belgium 9:1 with fantastic results.

The Sipovic sisters have achieved historic success for their homeland BiH, and with their excellent results, they have long been at the very top of European and world karate.
