The defendant Ćatić Adnan, born in 1988 in Zenica, fully admitted his guilt in the presence of a lawyer and signed a plea agreement with the prosecutor from the Department of Terrorism, the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced today.
The accused was extradited to the judiciary of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the territory of Turkey at the end of last year, after which the indictment of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina was filed and confirmed against him. After reviewing the indictment and the evidence collected against him by the prosecution and partner law enforcement agencies, the accused decided to plead guilty.
After the signing of the agreement, in the courtroom of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the positions of the prosecution and the defense regarding the agreement were presented, which proposed a prison sentence of 3 years for the accused.
The proposed sentence is in accordance with the role and responsibility of the accused, as well as with the assessment of the de-radicalization process, which is carried out against persons who were associated with terrorism or staying on foreign battlefields.
After considering the agreement, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina accepted the plea agreement and sentenced the accused to a prison term of 3 years.
In this way, the case has been legally concluded, without conducting court proceedings, announced the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.
