First Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH)Kemal Ademovic reacted to the interview that High Representative Christian Schmidt gave to the German newspaper FAZ.
He said that Schmidt’s latest statements about the state property of BiH are both surprising and worrying.
“They are surprising because he agrees to the vocabulary of the one who denies him as a high representative, who threatens him with arrest if he comes to the Republika Srpska (RS), and whom Schmidt points the finger at in the same interview as the main culprit. He is surprised by this pandering and words that are on the trail of what Dodik is advocating At the same time, the fact that Schmidt’s proposals are not in accordance with the Constitution and the judgments of the Constitutional Court of BiH and can cause major damage to BiH is worrying,” said Ademovic.
Ademovic reminded that he had previously pointed out that Schmidt’s views do not correspond with the views of other representatives of the international community in BiH, that they are in conflict with the statements of the American Embassy in BiH, which says that the issue of state property has been resolved and that BiH is its owner.
“I don’t know why Schmidt repeats that the issue of state property has been waiting for a solution for almost 30 years and that his responsibility is to advance that ‘division’. Such statements are inadmissible. First of all, why Schmidt uses the term “division”. I want to believe that the word is reckless used. BiH is the owner of its property and we can only talk about prescribing conditions of use by other levels of government. The judgments of the Constitutional Court of BiH are clear and unambiguous,” said Ademovic.
Additionally, Ademovic wonders, what kind of joint state agency is he talking about, and why?
He pointed out that the isolation of the RS has been mentioned in recent weeks due to the rhetoric and anti-constitutional actions of Dodik, and the Minister of Security Nenad Nesic is not far behind in this inciting and inappropriate rhetoric.
“I believe that the consequences of their political actions should be borne by politicians, not all citizens, and that we should not talk about the isolation of the RS, but about the isolation and sanctioning of politicians for what they do. The isolation of one part of the country would allow the culprits even greater arbitrariness, due to which again, the citizens of that part of BiHwould suffer the most,” concluded Ademovic, Klix.ba reports.
