Deputy chairman of Croat Democratic Community (HDZ) BiH Nikola Loverenović said to ‘Nezavisne Novine’ that he expects that the leader of four parties that make majority in FBIH will make a final solutions concerning the issue of ‘Sejdić and Finci’, and the six parties that constitute majority in BIH will sign that agreement by 11 April, when the European Enlargement Commissioner Štefan Füle comes.
He noted that HDZ BiH is not full satisfied with solutions concerning the implementation of the ruling which was agreed upon in Brussels, but it is a small step forward.
‘The situation is very serious and we are close to agreement. I believe we could sign the agreement before mister Füle arrives, and send it to parliamentary procedure’, said Loverenović.
He considers that ‘solutions from Brussels are a way to implement the Sejdić-Finci ruling’.
‘We should come to that, that other nations will not choose representative to nation different than theirs’, said Lovrenović.
Member of SDP BIH (Social-Democratic Party) Presidency Lidija Korać, who participated in consultations about possible solutions, notes that SDP BIH Presidency has supported principles from Brussels.
‘One principle is the direct election, another one is that any citizen of BIH can be elected to BIH presidency, and the third one is that two constituency will remain’, said Korać.
EU Delegation to BIH noted that it is very important to stop discrimination for the election for BiH Presidency and BiH House of Peoples, and that many other crucial details must be defined, reports Nezavisne Novine.
‘Political leaders need to continue with their work and talks with the aim to present the political agreement on 11 April. Leaders have led constructive talks and have expressed the readiness to reach political agreement for implementation of the ruling, and the larger part of those talks was concentrated on the model of direct, symmetrical election which will include all the specific characteristics of BIH’, noted Jasmina Milović-Halilović, spokeswoman of the EU Delegation and Special Representative of the EU in BIH
