psenicaAn agreement on the overall price of wheat in the RS of .38 KM per kilogram could be reached by the middle of next week, said the Director of “Žitopromet” in Bijeljina Slaviša Mijatović.

“Everything is going in the right direction. We have intensive communication between the Ministry, representatives of bakers and millers, and we wish to succeed in reaching a solution that will be good for all’’, said Mijatović.

“An important process such as the purchase of annual wheat crops should not fall on only one company and with a little understanding we can all come to the desired price of .38 KM per kilogram of wheat’’, concluded Mijatović.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water of the RS on Friday announced that millers and bakers should reach an agreement on the purchase price of wheat and wheat flour so that local wheat could be redeemed at 33 fenings per kilogram, which covers the cost of production.

“The total incentives for wheat production in the RS, including subsidized fertilizer and diesel fuel, amounts to an average of 300 KM per hectare, and this is the maximum support that could be approved with this year’s budget from taxpayers’’, said in a statement from the Ministry.
