An agreement between the Tuzla International Airport and the biggest low-tariff airline in Central and Eastern Europe ‘Wizz Air’, which was signed on 31 March, could be characterized as the new beginning of a market economy and an adaptation to the conditions of low-cost carriers, said the Director of the International Airport of Tuzla Enver Jukanović for ‘Sarajevo Times’.

He said that a lot of time and effort has been invested in order to create the market conditions for the signing of the agreement with the low-budget carrier.

“They requested that we adopt to their conditions, which means price reductions at all levels and favorable conditions for all citizens that decide to fly. We plan to establish an airlift between Tuzla Canton and the most important European destinations’’, said Jukanović.

This is an extremely important opportunity for a faster and better quality connection of entrepreneurs from this region with business people in countries that are connected to this Canton in this way: Scandinavian countries-Sweden, Denmark, Norway through Malmo and Gothenburg lines, and France, Switzerland and Germany through the Basel-Mulhouse line.

A significant number of passengers are expected on these lines from BiH and the region.

“I appreciated that passengers will choose Tuzla as a destination and ‘Wizz Air’ as a company that offers the most favorable conditions and prices on the market’’, said Jukanović.

According to him, it is realistic to expect that tourist organizations from the region will try to connect with destinations to which ‘Wizz Air’ travels, and primarily concerned with the richer areas of the EU (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, France and Germany).

The first airplane from Malmo to Tuzla Airport will land on 29 May.

The Hungarian Company ‘Wizz Air’ is the biggest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe with a fleet of 40 aircraft of Airbus 320 with 16 base airports and over 260 routes connecting 92 destinations in 31 countries.

The team of ‘Wizz Air’ of 1.500 professionals delivers services at very low prices, making ‘Wizz Air’ an acceptable choice for over 13.5 million passengers in 2013.
