Young Bosnian and Herzegovina footballer Kerim Alajbegović has signed a contract with Bayer Leverkusen, the German Bundesliga club confirmed.

Eighteen-year-old Alajbegović, the hero of the Bosnian national team in the victory over Wales in the semi-finals of the World Cup play-offs, was a member of the Leverkusen youth team from 2021 to 2025, and spent the past season in the ranks of Red Bull Salzburg.

Kerim Alajbegović returns to Bayer 04 after a one-year stay at Red Bull Salzburg.

The young Bosnian midfielder has signed a five-year contract and is once again part of the German team.

As a reminder, Kerim Alajbegović scored the decisive penalty goal last night for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s victory over Wales and passage to the final of the 2026 World Cup play-offs.
