The Civic Initiative Centers (CCI) have pointed out to an increasing environmental problem of land pollution, irresponsible relationship with nature and water, and the responsibility of each individual.

In order to raise awareness about the importance of improving environmental protection and energy efficiency in BiH, and the preservation and improvement of air, soil and water, the CCI has presented seven measures and have drawn attention to the growing number of wild landfills in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Out of 55 local governments, and received citizens’ applications through a free “green alarm”, from the beginning of October 2018, more than 1,400 sites of wild landfills across the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where about 5,000,000 m3 of waste have been deposited, are recorded.

These data point to the urgency of solving this problem in alarming all levels of authority for the issuance of financial and planning documents, with the aim of removing wild landfills.

In order to improve the system of data collection on wild landfills, CCI has established a “green alarm” through which at number 080 05 05 06 citizens can report locality and basic data on wild landfills.
