Judo representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina and representative of the University of Sarajevo (UNSA), Aleksandra Samardžić, won first place and a gold medal at the European University Judo Championship as part of the European University Combat Championship, which will be held in Zagreb from July 21 to 23.
Aleksandra competed in the category up to 70 kg, and achieved four victories over the representatives of Ukraine – Rytska Mariia, Romania – Severin Olga, Ukraine – Tsimko Olga, while in the final match she defeated the representative of FR Germany Redig Mareike and became the university champion of Europe.
Aleksandra Samardžić is a Master’s student at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Sarajevo.
Today, Domagoj Marić also performed representing the University of Mostar and won fifth place, while Mustafa Hebib achieved two wins and one loss, Toni Miletić one win and one loss, Domagoj Pušić one win and two losses, and Božidar Vučurević one loss.
“Our boys represented their universities and the colors of Bosnia and Herzegovina with dignity,” announced the Judo Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Anđela Samardžić won the silver medal on Friday, and Mila Petrović took fifth place.
Our athletes were accompanied by coaches Karim Hebib and Mitar Mrdić, as well as prof. Branislav Crnogorac, who held the position of vice president of the EUSA technical commission at this prestigious European University Championship.
