The Athletic team of Bosnia and Herzegovina will participate on the Balkan Indoor Championship in Istanbul on Saturday, 21st February.
From nine representatives of BiH, the most is expected from the shot-putter Hamza Alic, who has four titles of Indoor Balkan Champion in his career.
36-year-old member of AC Zenica, European Indoor vice champion in 2013 in Goteborg, travels with his best result of this season-19.65 achieved last week in Novi Sad.
“It is sure that I will need more than that result for the medal. I am in good condition and anyway I expect the winning of one medal. The main concurrent in Istanbul will be Asmir Kolasinac from Serbia and Georgio Ivanov from Bulgaria“. Said Alic for FENA Agency.
Besides Alic, BH colors will be defended by Mesud Pezer (shot put, AK Zenica), Amel Tuka (800 m, AK Zenica), Dusan Babic (1.500 m, AK Banja Luka), Sait Huseinbasic (60 m, AK Borac), Damir Redzepagic (400 m, AK Sarajevo) and Srdan Samardzic (3.000 m, AK Brcko), as well as Svjetlana Graorac (60 m, AK Banja Luka) and Nikolija Stanivukovic (high jump, AK Borac).
In the leadership of BH team which travels to Istanbul on Friday, will be the coach of men’s team Nebojsa Matijevic, and coaches Mehmed Skender and Elmir Cerimagic.
Also, the Balkan Indoor Championship for veterans will be held in Istanbul on which BH will have five representatives- shot-putters Mensur Vrcic, Semir Kavaz and Stanko Maric, and Ekrem Jakupovic and Denis Kadic in middle tracks races.
