Representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina attended a meeting yesterday in the Operational Communication Center of the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the occasion of the catastrophic consequences caused by the weather, and at the meeting they discussed ways to provide emergency assistance.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Minister of Defense for Policies and Plans Dženan Redžo, advisers to the Minister Muhamed Bajrić and Brigadier Arnad Kukuljac, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Security of BiH, the Federal Administration of Civil Protection, the Civil Protection of the RS, the Red Cross of BiH, the Central Election Commission of BiH, representatives of the NATO headquarters, of the UN and other international organizations.
At the meeting, information was exchanged about the current situation in the threatened areas of the country, the most priority needs of the population of those areas, and the possibilities and methods of emergency assistance.
Representatives of the BiH Ministry of Defense informed the attendees that all the resources of the Armed Forces of BiH are available to the vulnerable population, and that the air force, engineering, search and rescue services and infantry with logistical support have been engaged.
They also emphasized that the process of distribution of election materials will continue according to plan, as defined by the Agreement on the temporary loan of resources of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Representatives of international organizations emphasized their readiness to provide support to the vulnerable in the most priority needs (food, water, medicines, blankets and others).
At the meeting, it was concluded that food, water, medicines and other necessities of life are collected through the Red Cross of BiH, and all other material and technical resources are collected through the Federal Administration of Civil Protection, in order to facilitate coordination, announced the Ministry of BiH.
