The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Novi Sad announced that the remaining seven people, two of whom were male and five female, who died in the collapse of the canopy on the Railway Station building, have been identified.
They are, as stated, N.K. (17), Đ.F. (53), M.A. (16), F.V. (10), S.F. (6) and G.R. (58), K.M. (76).
The prosecutor’s office further stated that an on-site investigation was conducted at the scene of the accident in cooperation with the Novi Sad Police Department and an expert report was requested.
“Parallel with the expert examinations that are to be carried out in the shortest possible time, the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Novi Sad is fully engaged in collecting all notifications and information, and for this purpose, it was ordered that during the day at least twenty persons, among others, responsible from the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, as well as the competent minister, responsible persons from Serbian Railways AD, responsible persons from the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of the City of Novi Sad, as well as other persons, were ordered to be heard criminal offense and criminal responsibility,” they stated.
Let us remind you that 14 people died and three were seriously injured in the collapse of the canopy of the front part of the Railway Station in Novi Sad yesterday.
The injured persons are still in serious condition undergoing treatment at the University Clinical Center of Vojvodina.
In Serbia and Republika Srpska it is the Day of Mourning, and in Novi Sad three days of mourning have been declared.
