Today, Almir Džuvo officially took over the position of director of the Intelligence and Security Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina after the handover he made with Osman Mehmedagić.
Deputy director Risto Zarić and general inspector Damir Bevanda also assumed their mandates.
On February 23, the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina appointed Džuvo as the new director of OSA. This ended the mandate of Osman Mehmedagić.
Džuvo was the director of OSA until 2015, and he was appointed to that position as a professional policeman with experience in the intelligence service of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FOSS). Then he was the head of the Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina to NATO.
From 2000 to 2002, he was the Minister of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton.
