Almost a quarter of young People in Serbia have faced Depression and Anxiety

Almost a quarter of young people in Serbia have faced depression and anxiety, and half turn to a professional for some kind of psychological support, according to a national survey on the life and health habits of twenty-year-olds conducted by the “Healthy Twenties” platform.

As periods of intense anxiety, young people cited situations when they need to make important life decisions, such as enrolling in college, and as another psychological problem exhaustion and problems with concentration, especially during exam periods, which are mostly solved by drinking coffee or energy drinks.

The survey showed that a quarter of young people think that they take care of their health, while almost twice as many of them stated that they try to improve their habits.

Most of the respondents, they say, have changed their lifestyle in the past year – in this sense, the respondents point out that they move more, take more care with their diet, engage in sports or physical activity more often, and consume less alcohol.

The research on the life habits of twenty-year-olds was conducted from January to February on a sample of 600 respondents from all over Serbia, Beta writes.
