Ambassador Ivancov: Russia is not arming the RS!

ivancovAmbassador of Russia to BiH Petr Ivancov stated that his country is not arming the Republika Srpska and doing anything other than usual diplomatic protocols in BiH.

“We are not procuring any weapons for the RS, we do not discuss tactics or share intelligence input with the aim of harming the central institutions of BiH,” said Ivancov.

Ivancov stated that Russia develops economic, cultural and humanitarian relations with Banja Luka.

“I do not know what the issue about the hybrid war refers to. It is a quite undefined term which can imply many things. There is nothing in it that might refer to our relations with BiH or RS,” Ivancov said.

Ivancov added that he is not commenting on statement of politicians from countries where he is not accredited, but he denied that his country is doing anything else but usual diplomatic protocols in BiH.

Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović stated that Russia is in a “hybrid war” with BiH, as well as that she sees strong links between Russia and the President of RS Milorad Dodik. She added that Russia might interfere by sending weapons, providing tactics, intelligence input, information and inaccurate information, and all that creates a campaign.

Russian Ambassador to BiH claims that cooperation with the RS is in accordance with Dayton, as well as that Russia also nourishes good relations with central institutions and with the FBiH.

“There are no hidden intentions in relations we have and with these relations we do not want to impose any harm on BiH. President Dodik is just one of equal partners we have in BiH, including those in central institutions and in the FBiH, although it is probably true that we have more intense relations with the RS. Nevertheless, there is no hidden agenda there,” said Ivancov.
