The Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Yasser Sorour, received today, at the residence of the Embassy of Egypt, the paraswimmers of the BiH national team, Ismail Zulfić and Ismail Barlov, after returning from the competition at the World Series meeting in Egypt.
“When I saw that you won medals, I wanted to meet you and congratulate you. I want to tell you that we are proud of you. I am glad that you won medals, said Sorour, and expressed his satisfaction with the visit, once again congratulated the team members on their success.
”Since it’s your first time traveling to Cairo, I spoke to the director of Air Cairo, and he liked the idea of us supporting you. When the season starts you will be the first on the flight to Hurghada. We have flights three times a week for five months. It is our pleasure to have two champions on an Air Cairo flight, it is the greatest advertisement. In addition, we will see to arrange your visit to the Great National Museum in Egypt,” Ambassador Sourour said.
The coach of the Swimming Club ”SPID” Amel Kapo, said they had a very pleasant and nice conversation, and exchanged information about sports in Bosnia and Herzegovina and about future plans.
Paraswimmers Zulfić and Barlov brought five medals to their country from Egypt: two gold, two silver and one bronze. Barlov won a silver medal in the 150-meter medley with a state record time of 3:37:20 and a confirmed second “A” norm for the Paralympic Games in Paris in 2024, and a gold medal in the junior competition. He won the gold medal in the “A” final in the 50-meter breaststroke event. Zulfić won a bronze medal in the senior “A” final, and silver in the junior competition. Ismail Zulfić previously won silver in the junior competition in the 200 medley, Balkan News reports.
