The Ambassador of the United Kingdom (UK) to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Julian Reilly, published a reaction to the verdict against the president of the entity of Republika Srpska(RS), Milorad Dodik.

“After the Court of BiH confirmed the first-instance verdict in the case against Milorad Dodik and Milos Lukic, the UK makes it clear that the Court’s verdict must be fully respected. All relevant institutions and actors should support the rule of law and, without delay, act in accordance with the verdict, following the Court’s instructions,” stated Ambassador Reilly.

The Appellate Panel in the second-instance verdict confirmed the decision of the Court of BiH by which Dodik was sentenced to one year in prison and six years of prohibition from holding political office. Dodik was sentenced by the first-instance verdict to one year in prison and six years of prohibition from holding political functions due to non-compliance with the decisions of the High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt.
