The Ambassador of the US to BiH Maureen Cormack met with a group of mayors on the margins of the “American Business Forum for Promotion and Networking” that took place yesterday, September 22, in Banja Luka.
This working lunch was an opportunity to talk about how these mayors improved the business environment in their municipalities and cities, with a special emphasis on the most efficient methods for achieving economic growth. They also discussed how the US Embassy in BiH can offer a support to further development at the local level.
Most of the mayors who attended the working lunch are leading municipalities/cities that received BFC certificates for a favorable business environment. These certificates are awarded on the basis of business environment on a local level with the aim of enabling the exchange of experiences, stimulation of quality managing of local authorities and increasing the competitiveness of municipalities and cities in the region, and thus attracting new investments.
The meeting was attended by: Edin Delic, Mayor of the Municipality of Lukavac, Fuad Kasumovic, the Mayor of Zenica, Mico Micic, Mayor of Bijeljina, Igor Radojicic, Mayor of Banja Luka, Jasmin Imamovic, Mayor of Tuzla, Milenko Djakovic, Mayor of Prijedor, Muhamed Ramovic, Mayor of Gorazde and Zoran Adzic, Mayor of the Municipality of Bosanska Gradiska, as announced by the US Embassy in BiH.
