Americans to make a Movie about the Siege of Sarajevo?

warThe shooting of the movie called “Bearing Witness” that started on June 12 in Sarajevo, and which will bring a story about the siege of the capital city of BiH, was continued at the Campus of the University of Sarajevo. The director of this movie is Joseph Pierson.

The story of the movie is based on the experiences of war reporter Aida Cerkez and it describes an interview with a man from Sarajevo who witnessed the murder of Franz Ferdinand.

“In this conversation, he described the turbulent history of this city, especially noting the fact that he was born as a citizen of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in the house where I interviewed him, and he lived in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes, in the NDH, in Yugoslavia, and finally in BiH. Thus, during his lifetime, he lived in five different states, and never moved from his house,” said Aida.

“I see this as another story that I talk about, and I’ve been telling stories for 25 years, they appear in the form of newspaper articles, and this one now in the form of a movie. It scares me a little bit because I am not in my usual field,” said Aida.

The movie is produced by Cypress Films, a production house from New York, and it is supported by Deblokada from Sarajevo. The main roles are interpreted by Zrinka Cvitesic, Rade Serbedzija, and Jasna Zalica.
