The U.S. Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that the United States and Bosnia and Herzegovina continue their cooperation in strengthening counterterrorism efforts, police cooperation, and border security, with a particular focus on enhancing the capacities of domestic institutions.
According to the statement, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, with the support of the U.S. Department of State, recently organized state-level threat assessment training in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The training focused on risks associated with Afghan and Syrian migration.
The training was attended by 60 officers from the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs, and the Indirect Taxation Authority, with the aim of strengthening their operational capacities in the fields of security and border management.
The U.S. Embassy emphasized that such activities contribute to better preparedness of institutions in both countries to respond to shared security challenges, including cross-border crime, human trafficking, and illegal migration, thereby strengthening the border security of both Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United States, Klix.ba writes.
