Analysis: Citizens’ Savings in Banks in Bosnia and Herzegovin

According to the data of entity banking agencies, banks in Bosnia and Herzegovina made a profit of 709 million BAM in the previous year.

Banks in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina had a total income of 1,485,689,000 BAM, of which the total income from interest and similar income is 915,459,000 BAM. Operating income amounted to 658,307,000 BAM.

The total expenses of banks in the Federation of BiH amounted to 1,016,931,000 BAM, and the profit before taxation amounted to 556,835,000 BAM. Banks in the Federation paid 42,871,000. The total profit of banks in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina amounted to 520,670,000 BAM.

Deposits in banks in the Federation of BiH in 2023 amounted to 23,899,670,000 BAM, of which 49.7 percent or 11,882,828,000 BAM are deposits of individuals, 23.6 percent are deposits of private companies and companies, 13 percent are deposits of government institutions, 7, 3% deposits of public companies, 2.4% deposits of non-profit organizations.

Savings of citizens in banks based in the Federation of BiH in 2023 amounted to 11,301,058,000 BAM

As for Republika Srpska, total revenues amounted to 650.1 million BAM, and expenditures to 441.2 million BAM. The tax paid was 19.6 million BAM. The profit of banks in the RS amounted to 189.1 million BAM in 2023.

According to the data of the Banking Agency of the RS in 2023, deposits in banks amounted to 7.7 billion BAM, of which more than 4.5 billion BAM went to household deposits.

Household savings in banks in the Republika Srpska amounted to 2,594,500,000 BAM, and loans amounted to slightly more than three billion BAM, Klix.ba writes.
