Turbulent and uncertain in the last days in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly. Namely, the narrow and complicated majority in this assembly was additionally shaken by the departure of the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina – representative Admela Hodžić. She will now act as an independent MP, but in a new parliamentary group with MP Režo Lemezan, who left Naša stranka earlier. Damir Marjanović from the Movement for New Generations will work with them in the Club. But it seems that leaving the party does not mean leaving the majority. Therefore, regardless of all this turmoil, the parties that make up the government are of the opinion that the majority is safe.
All eyes in Canton Sarajevo are on the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Is the overcomposition of the government on the scene again, as it was in the last mandate? For now, only a hunch that it will happen. However, no one can say for sure whether the Party for BiH remains part of the parliamentary majority or withdraws at this moment. The troika wants the SBiH as partners in the government, that is, they are sure of the support of the representatives.
ALJOŠA ČAMPARA, deputy of NiP in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly
“I would like the Party for BiH to remain in that parliamentary majority, of course with this newly formed club, regardless of the fact that they had some disagreements within their party, so Admela Hodžić left, formally. I have information that there is still dissatisfaction within those of some parties”.
The Party for BiH does not hide that they are dissatisfied because, as they say, the signed coalition agreement is being violated every day. However, they do not reveal the next steps, that is, whether they will leave the government.
SEMIR EFENDIĆ, President of the SBiH
“There is a non-compliance with the agreement by the partners, the retention of personnel within public utility companies, which do not provide any results. I do not know how long it will last. We have a different approach from the partners, specifically the SDP and our party. We will see how this will end, but it won’t last this way for sure”.
What is certain is that, if the Party for BiH leaves power, the Troika will have 17 hands, and judging by the statements of the ruling party, the hands of the newly formed club. Because of this, there is no crisis, at least that’s what NiP and Our Party think.
ALJOŠA ČAMPARA, deputy of NiP in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly
“I think this newly formed club will be part of this current majority. I am so informed and I have this information, and I think it is quite accurate”.
VILDANA BEŠLIJA, representative of Our Party in Sarajevo Canton
“When it comes to the state level, the federal level and when there were some problems, we in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly managed to maintain that dialogue. I want to believe that we will all be answered in the work for which we were elected”.
Although most of them are functioning for now, many appointments in public companies in Sarajevo Canton are pending. It is clear that the parties of the Troika will not demand that the SBiH withdraw from power, but the disputed appointments could encourage the leadership of this party to decide to leave the power in Sarajevo Canton themselves, as they did at the level of the Federation of BiH and the state.
