Another 2.5 Billion BAM for the Construction of Corridor 5C

”We are facing years of significant increase in the volume of construction and large investments in the completion of the highway on Corridor 5C.

We currently have eight active construction sites, where another 40 kilometers of highway are being built.

The total investment value of these works is about 1.14 billion BAM,” noted Elmedin Voloder, director of “Autoceste of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH)“.

Six years

”If we manage to realize everything that is planned, and we have already done a lot, the deadline until 2028 stated by the Prime Minister and the line minister is realistic, provided the construction of the Prenj tunnel in a period of six years. In the next six to ten months, we plan to contract and start the construction of new 85 kilometers, and these are jobs worth 2.5 billion BAM,” told Elmedin Voloder.

It is important, he claims, that the financing of the highway on Corridor 5C has been completed, except for the section from Bradina to Ovcara, but that the European Investment Bank (EIB) has already shown interest in financing 50 percent of the total funds.

”We expect that the Government of FBiH will soon sign agreements for this section, which means that we will be able to start activities on all sections of Corridor 5C that remain to be built. Our plan is to complete the northern part of the Corridor through Bosnia, from Sarajevo to Doboj, by the end of 2025,” Voloder stressed.

Tarcin – Ivan

This summer, the 6.9-kilometer-long Tarcin-Ivan section will be opened to traffic.

”In two years, citizens will be able to drive on the highway without interruption in the length of about 130 kilometers, from Bradina at the entrance to Herzegovina to Poprikuse near Zepce.

Construction of a highway

We currently have three highway projects under construction with a total length of 12 kilometers. The investment of these works amounts to 188 million BAM.

Strategic routes for road networking of the Federation have been selected: Orasje – Tuzla, Bihac – Cazin – Kladusa – Republic of Croatia, Mostar – Siroki Brijeg – Republic of Croatia, Lasva – Travnik – Jajce and Praca – Gorazde, Avaz writes.
