The Roma youth organization “Romas” from Sarajevo will organize at the beginning of March in Sarajevo a course on sewing and tailoring for 10 participants. The course will be organized under the program of localization of gender in the FBiH.

UN Women is financing the program, and the FBiH Gender Center and the Dutch Organization will jointly implement it for Development (SNV), as well as municipality Novi Grad in Sarajevo as part of its project “Economic Empowerment through Self-Employment of Single Roma Mothers”.

Single mothers from the area of Novi Grad who are registered in the employment office are able to apply for the course.

The course will be held at the high school for textile, leather and design in Sarajevo under the supervision of professors from this school, and all participants will be provided transport to the school.

The course is scheduled to last for 3 months, and there will be 2 classes twice per week.

Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of the completion of their training, as well as a new sewing machine, which would facilitate self-employment.
