According to information from unnamed sources in the Israeli army obtained by Israeli media, at least 6.000 Israel Defense Forces (IDF)soldiers have been wounded in the fighting for the Gaza Strip, while the number of killed is estimated at 871.

The fighting in urban areas with Hamas members during the two-year operations of the Israeli army has taken a heavy toll on all units sent to that front.

According to military data obtained by Israeli media, at least 871 officers and soldiers of the Israeli army have been killed since the beginning of the war in Gaza, in battles that began on October 27th, 2023. To this number is added the number of wounded soldiers, which is estimated at approximately 6.000.

The nature and type of combat in the Gaza Strip, with close-range battles and the massive use of explosive devices by Hamas fighters, is taking a toll on the Israeli army, which has relied on its technological superiority from day one.

Also, these figures do not include estimates of the large number of Israeli soldiers who have reported forms of PTSD and mental illnesses after fighting in the Gaza Strip.

On the other hand, the total number of killed Palestinians has risen to more than 56.000 killed and 131.848 wounded since October 7th, 2023.
