The authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina entity of the Republika Srpska recognized the importance of raising security in schools to a higher level, which is why 11 measures were adopted to strengthen security and prevent violence in primary and secondary schools, as well as student dormitories.
Some of these measures are the improvement of the legislative framework for the prevention of violence, the improvement of material and technical conditions, which, among other things, includes the introduction of video surveillance in all educational institutions. For the realization of all eleven measures, it will be necessary to set aside about 23 million marks.
One of the priorities is the collection of data on violence and in connection with the prevention of violence.
“We recognized that a unique way of recording violence in schools should be determined. It was decided to adopt a form for recording violence in schools, in order to enable the monitoring of it. A uniform form should be created for the reporting of multi-sector teams in schools”, pointed out Željka Stojičić, Minister of Education and Culture of the RS.
