pipeline-1Shah Deniz Consortium has chosen the route of the pipeline Transatlantic Pipeline (TAP) for transport of Azerbaijan gas for the European market, confirmed in an interview for Fena the Deputy Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Zlatko Lagumdžija.

Michael Hoffmann, the Director for Foreign Affairs of TAP AG, officially confirmed today that the project for the pipeline was chosen ahead of the competitive project Nabucco West.

“With the activation of this project, BiH will finally be drawn into the map of Europe as a part of the European gas ring through which the transport of gas for EU countries from Azerbaijani gas fields will be conducted. With this, we cease to be an ‘appendix’ to the gas network because we will be on the route of transportation gas, and this means additional revenue for BiH based on the transport of gas through other countries and the opportunity of better diversification of gas across the country. Thus, we receive independence and security when it comes to supplying the final consumer, because in addition to the Russian, we will have gas from Azerbaijan at our disposal, and on the construction of the future pipeline through BiH local companies will be engaged in this’’, said Lagumdžija to Fena.
