The election commission of the SDA, as part of the preparations for the 8th congress of the party, which will be held on October 14, held a session where, among other things, candidacies for the party president were discussed.
The commission concluded that the only candidate for SDA president who meets the statutory requirements is Bakir Izetbegović. Šemsudin Mehmedović, who announced that he had officially submitted his candidacy, did not fulfill the conditions.
The commission states that Mehmedović had eight municipal/city committee candidacies, which was not enough to certify the candidacy, considering that, according to the SDA Statute, the support of at least three cantonal/regional organizations or 15 municipal/city organizations is required for its certification.
