Zeljko Komsic, the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) referred a telegram of condolences to the family of prominent artist Djordje Balasevic.

The member of the Presidency of BiH, said goodbye to Djordje Balasevic with emotional and carefully chosen words, while emphasizing that the singer-songwriter from Novi Sad was a great friend of BiH and Sarajevo.

“Like many citizens of BiH, I was shocked and grieved by the news of the death of Djordje Balasevic, a renowned artist and writer. Djordje Balasevic was a great friend of BiH and the City of Sarajevo. He left a permanent mark in his work, and his departure from life is a huge loss for the entire region, ” stated Komsic.

Komsic also sent his deepest condolences to the Balasevic family, on this occasion.

“On this occasion, I would like to send my deepest condolences to his family and friends, on behalf of BiH citizens, and my behalf,” says the conclusion of the telegram of condolences by Zeljko Komsic.

Legendary Serbian singer Djordje Balasevic has died after contracting the coronavirus, state television reported on February 19.

The 66-year-old, who was also a poet and director, had remained popular across the former Yugoslavia after the breakup of Yugoslavia in the 1990s.

Balasevic was admitted to a hospital in the northern Serbian city of Novi Sad on February 16 after suffering from pneumonia that appeared to be caused by the coronavirus, rferl reports.
