The area of Bugojno was hit by an earthquake tonight, it was confirmed on the website of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC). According to the first information, the epicenter was in the vicinity of Bugojno, but the earthquake was felt in a wider area of central Bosnia.

Citizens of Bugojno, Donji Vakuf, Gornji Vakuf, Travnik and surrounding towns reported that the ground shaking lasted for several seconds. Some of them stated that a rumble was also heard, while others described a feeling similar to an impact or an explosion, with moderate to stronger shaking, especially in the higher floors of buildings.

For now, there is no official data on the magnitude of the earthquake, nor information on possible material damage or injured persons.

Competent services are monitoring the situation, and more information is expected after seismological institutions publish more precise data on the strength and epicenter of the earthquake.
