In Banja Luka, students gathered on Sunday in front of the Rectorate building to pay tribute to the victims of the canopy collapse in Novi Sad.
The gathering was organized by the informal group “Students for Students Banja Luka,” and the central part of the commemoration consisted of 16 minutes of silence – one minute for each person who lost their life in the canopy collapse on November 1, 2024.
This year’s event was strictly commemorative in nature. Prior to the gathering, the organizers requested that citizens refrain from bringing banners, whistles, or other items, aiming to ensure the occasion was marked in peace and with dignity.
“Bring only your hearts. That will be more than enough,” stated the group “Students for Students Banja Luka.”
Following the 16 minutes of silence, and in accordance with the announced program, a representative of the informal group addressed the attendees, followed by the performance of a fitting song by a student volunteer choir.
