The Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team will play its 5th round match of the Nations League against Germany in Freiburg tomorrow. Coach Sergej Barbarez and striker Ermedin Demirović addressed the media at today’s press conference.
Demirović, who was one of the key players in the previous matches, spoke about the challenges of the tight match schedule.
“There are enough matches on the calendar. Playing football is easy, but being constantly on the road, in hotels, is difficult. Although it is not too hard physically, the mental effort is great,” said Demirović, adding that he was always motivated to play every match.
The striker also commented on the psychological aspects of the game, with special emphasis on the missed penalty and the chances he had in previous matches.
“That’s the past, as a striker you have to forget those things. I will have another chance against Germany,” said Demirović.
Coach Barbarez reflected on the atmosphere within the team, talking about the team’s initiative to visit the amusement park as a way to strengthen team bonding.
“It was a surprise, but we see that the guys want to be together, to socialize and that is very important for our team,” said Barbarez, who emphasized that he is proud of the way the players react to challenges.
Given the injuries, Barbarez confirmed that Jusuf Gazibegović and Nihad Mujakić will not be available, while he hopes that Mujakić will be ready for the next match.
“I will never say that we are missing anyone. We have a lot of young players who are ready to take responsibility. It is important to look to the future and develop the team for the upcoming challenges,” said the coach.
Barbarez also emphasized that the key to success is the continuity of the game and team chemistry, which is crucial for achieving good results, BHRT writes.
