The national basketball team of BiH won against the National team of Russia in the 1st qualifying round for the World Cup with the score 81:76.

Both teams played very well in the first quarter, and the Russians finally ended it up in their favor with a minimum advantage 21:20.

Both teams were much better in defense in the second quarter, and the team of Russia had a minimum advantage over the whole period.

The Russian’s greatest moment was at the score 27:33, but BH basketball team led by Stipanovic managed to neutralize the backlog and went on to the break with the score 38:38.

Our basketball players continued with great defense, and they achieved the advantage of four points at the end of the third quarter.

The Russians were unable to unlock the brilliant defense of our team in the last quarter as well, and our selection finally won against the favored opponent.

The most efficient in the team of BiH was Musa with 18 points and seven jumps. The best in the Russian team was their captain Fridzon with 22 points.

Our basketball players will play the next match on Monday, at 8:45 PM, against the team of France.
