The vital interest of Bosniaks, Serbs, Croats, and all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) is the protection of the constitutional order of BiH. Only in this way can we protect peace and security, and all together focus on economic and all other social development, said the member of the Presidency of BiH, Denis Becirovic.
In a post on his Facebook profile, Becirovic emphasized that Milorad Dodik is deliberately abusing his position, even though he knows that he is not any kind of interpreter of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitution of BiH, as its annex.
“The bodies responsible for the final interpretation of this international agreement, as well as for the exclusive jurisdiction to decide on any dispute arising under the Constitution of BiH, are clearly prescribed. At the end of 1995, all signatories of the Dayton Peace Agreement agreed to such solutions, and the greatest world powers witnessed this with their signatures. The anti-Dayton attempt to have unauthorized individuals and bodies interpret the content of the Dayton Peace Agreement represents a direct and brutal attack on this international agreement. The rule of law is the conditio sine qua non of a democratic and legal state, and everyone needs to be aware of that,” Becirovic stressed.
He adds that BiH has institutions, laws, and people responsible, each within their own competencies, for protecting the constitutional order of the state.
Among other things, the state also has the Armed Forces of BiH (AFBiH), he points out.
“BiH organizes, develops, and maintains military capacity and readiness of the AFBiH for the purpose of ensuring the sovereignty, territorial integrity, political independence, and international subjectivity of BiH,” explains the member of the Presidency of BiH.
He adds that individuals who, for personal interests, are trying to jeopardize 30 years of building and preserving peace in the state of BiH are dangerously playing with fire.
“The fire they are trying to ignite with their anti-Dayton and destructive policies would have immeasurable proportions and consequences,” Becirovic underlined.
