The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, said that the war criminal Ratko Mladić remains inscribed in black letters in the history of BiH, Europe and the world, and that the final judgment of the Hague Tribunal for all time and judicially ranked him among the most brutal murderers of the 20th century.

Bećirović said that his thoughts are with the victims, their families and all the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who still bear the consequences of the aggression against the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the genocide committed against Bosniaks.

He reminded that Ratko Mladić was legally sentenced to life imprisonment for the genocide of Bosniaks in and around Srebrenica, as well as for crimes against humanity, persecution, extermination, murder, deportation, inhuman acts, violation of the laws and customs of war, terrorizing civilians, illegal attacks on civilians and taking hostages.

“The court’s verdict on this war criminal is not only a verdict on his individual criminal responsibility, but also a historical verdict on the criminal Great Serbian project,” emphasized Bećirović.

Speaking about the death of Mladić, he said that it should be an additional reason to spread the truth about the thousands of murdered people whose lives will never be returned.

“The war criminal Mladić died, but court verdicts and facts remain forever. BiH and the whole world have an obligation to preserve the truth about the aggression against the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the genocide committed against Bosniaks,” he pointed out.

He said that Bosnia and Herzegovina remains dedicated to peace, justice, the rule of law and building a society in which diversity will be respected, and genocide and war crimes condemned, remembered and prevented, so that they never happen again to anyone, announced the Cabinet of the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović.
