The member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, and the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Julian Reilly, today called on all competent institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina to act urgently in order to solve the difficult financial situation of the Public Radio and Television Service of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the meeting, Bećirović pointed out that it is important to urgently ensure the consistent implementation of the Law on the Public Radio and Television System of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially in the part of the distribution of the collected RTV tax in accordance with the Law.

Bećirović also expressed his gratitude to the UK for its continuous, principled and strong support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stressing that such support is of particular importance in times of pronounced political and security challenges. He pointed out that cooperation with the UK represents an important support in strengthening security, resilience of institutions and the overall stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He particularly emphasized the importance of British support for reform processes, the development of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the strengthening of capacities in the field of security and defense.

Ambassador Reilly confirmed the UK’s strong and permanent commitment to an independent, sovereign and multi-ethnic Bosnia and Herzegovina, stressing that the UK remains a reliable partner for Bosnia and Herzegovina in strengthening stability and further progress on its Euro-Atlantic path.

Bećirović emphasized the importance of the continuation of British engagement in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the assessment that the support of the UK is particularly important for the continuation of the process of Euro-Atlantic integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The member of the BiH Presidency also pointed to the importance of further improving bilateral cooperation in the field of economy, investments and business connections, including the potential for stronger cooperation in infrastructure projects, as well as the importance of the contribution of the Bosnian diaspora in the UK to the development of relations between the two countries, Bećirović’s cabinet announced.
