The member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, spoke in London with the Chairwoman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the UK Parliament, Alicia Kearns, about the threat to peace and security in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as defining concrete responses to the separatist moves of irresponsible politicians from Republika Srpska.

In addition to this conversation, Bećirović also had a series of important meetings with high-ranking British officials behind closed doors during the day, it was announced from the Cabinet of the member of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović.

Bećirović emphasized, among other things, that the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina is at a turning point, and that the extreme and anti-Dayton policy of the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, has called into question the peace and security that have been painstakingly built for almost three decades.

“The West and Bosnia and Herzegovina must stop with concrete measures the destructive anti-Dayton policy that can threaten peace in the region as well. The time for yielding and tolerating Dodik’s policy has passed. Now we must act responsibly and decisively, preserving the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the provisions of the international agreement, which are guaranteed by the world’s largest powers. “, Bećirović said.

Kearns said that the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, as a guarantor of the Dayton Peace Agreement, is ready with its allies to prevent threats to peace and the Dayton Peace Agreement in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She emphasized that the United Kingdom has been committed to the security and prosperity of Bosnia and Herzegovina since its independence.

During the meeting, the importance of deepening cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Kingdom with the aim of improving bilateral relations between the two countries was underlined.

The All-party Group for BiH has been active in the current convocation of the UK Parliament since mid-July 2020 and is made up of members of both houses, and they come from three main political options: Labour, Conservatives and Liberal Democrats. Alicia Kearns is the chairman of the All-Party Group for BiH.

Bećirović continues his working visit tomorrow with talks with the highest officials of the UK Government. Among other things, meetings are planned tomorrow with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth and Development, the Minister of Armed Forces, the UK Special Envoy for the Western Balkans and other officials.
