Becirovic to Vucic: You are not competent to interpret the Laws of BiH

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović responded to the latest unfounded statements by the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić – Bećirović’s Cabinet announced.

He said that he would not comment on part of the statement by the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić that “Serbia has been attacked from outside and from within”, because this is the competence of the authorities of the neighboring Republic of Serbia. Their bodies should determine whether this country has been attacked, by whom and how.

“We in Bosnia and Herzegovina will not interfere in the internal affairs of neighboring Serbia. However, the statement by the President of Serbia that “Republika Srpska has been attacked” is unacceptable and very dangerous. This Bosnian and Herzegovinian entity is part of the independent, sovereign and indivisible state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and no one has attacked it. There is no evidence for such an irresponsible and inflammatory construction”, according to a statement from the Cabinet of the Member of the Presidency of BiH Denis Bećirović.

It is added that the issue of an attack on the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina or any part of it is precisely regulated by the laws of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“An attack on any part of Bosnia and Herzegovina and in any form is considered an attack on the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Therefore, there are state institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina that have the capacity and legal role to ensure the sovereignty, territorial integrity, political independence and international subjectivity of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” the statement states.

It is emphasized that the interpretation of the laws of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the exclusive responsibility of its state bodies and “the President of Serbia has absolutely nothing to do with it”.

“Therefore, he is completely incompetent and unauthorized to speak about any attack on the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina or any part of it.

Unfortunately, without any reason, contrary to international and national law, the President of Serbia is continuously and aggressively interfering in the internal affairs of the independent, sovereign and indivisible state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It would be good for the entire region if the President of Serbia dealt with the internal affairs of the state he represents, and not diverted attention from the problems in his own country by causing crises in other states,” the Office of BiH Presidency Member Denis Bećirović said.
