Becirovic: We will continue Cooperation with our Allies and their Diplomats in BiH

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, strongly condemned the decision of the Government of the BiH entity Republika Srpska to interfere without authorization in the foreign policy of the State of BiH and to take decisions on the termination of relations with the diplomats of the United States of America and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bećirović said that “the United States of America and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland are proven friends of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who continuously provide support for the stability, security and economic progress of our country,” Bećirović’s Cabinet announced.

He pointed out that only the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina is competent to regulate foreign policy and “it will continue cooperation with our allies and their diplomats in Bosnia and Herzegovina”.

“After the latest scandalous decision of the Dodik regime in the BiH entity RS, the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue even more intense and strong cooperation with the West. I call on the member states of the European Union, especially Germany and France, as well as other democratic states, to publicly express unity with the United States of America and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It is high time that the political vassal of Putin’s regime, Milorad Dodik, receives a unique and decisive response from the West and the pro-Euro-Atlantic forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is time to stand together against the political evil that openly threatens the peace and security of all people in BiH and the region,” said Bećirović.

Bećirović states that numerous members of the European Parliament are increasingly speaking out about the dangers of such a lenient policy towards extremists, who, among other things, adopted a resolution in January 2023 directly calling on the EU to impose sanctions on Milorad Dodik.

The European parliamentarians, with just cause and strong arguments, called on the EU foreign affairs ministers to support the imposition of firm sanctions on Milorad Dodik and all other persons in the leadership of the RS who are responsible for violating the Dayton Peace Agreement.
